How to get into The IIITs
The Indian Institutes of Information Technology(IIITs) are a group of instuitutes established by the central government, which are centrally funded and are managed by the Ministry Of Human Resource Development. These institutes are generally focussed on courses and degrees on information technology.
The IIITs can be categorised according to their setups:

IIITs ADMISSIONS 2017
As of 2017, 20 IIITs will participate in JoSAA Counselling. All of the candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and participate in the counselling process of JoSAA 2017 will be allotted to these institutes according to their rank and preference. The candidates who have qualified JEE Mains Paper-1 examination will be allotted into the IIITs and other NITs and GFTIs. Allotment of seats will be done as per merit of the candidate.
The IIITs which will be intaking students through JoSAA 2017 are:

· IIIT Guwahati
· IIIT Kota
· IIIT Vadodara
· IIIT Sri City, Chittoor
· IIIT Una, HP
· IIIT Lucknow

· IIIT Kalyani, WB
· IIIT Kilohrad
· IIIT Tiruchirapalli
· IIIT Manipur
· IIIT Dharwad
· IIIT Kurnool
· IIIT Nagpur
· IIIT Ranchi
· IIIT Pune
So all what the students have to do is select the IIITs in the order of their preference in the list of their preferred institutes, and provided that they have the rank and eligibility required, they should easily get into one.
IIITs which have their own independent admission process:
· IIIT Bhubaneswar
· IIIT Hyderabad
· IIIT Delhi
These three IIITs do not take part in JoSAA counselling and they intake students based on their scores in the JEE Mains Paper-1 Examination only. Students need to apply separately to these institutes.
