A brief introduction about Meghana :

Human behavior flows from three main sources : desire, emotion and knowledge. Treat others the way you want to be treated and receive goodness in return always. All human beings are interconnected, just as treasures are uncovered from earth, so does virtue appears from the good deeds and wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind. To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue. Meghana Dabbara is one such human being who believes in the virtue of ‘ Being Human’ and is trying to make this world a better place to live.

Raised in Guntakal, a small town in the Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, Meghana  grew up on her mother’s stories about the harmonious life back in her village. “Her stories played a huge role in making me what I am today. When I realized people weren’t actually helping each other in today’s world, I decided to bring that harmony into the world,” she says.

Meghana Dabbara- Achiever of Stars

1) Hey! Meghana, it’s great having you on board. Tell us more about yourself.

Hello readers, I am Meghana Dabbara, founder of “Make the world wonderful society”. I fouded this NGO in 2015 which is on a mission to set up 2,500 child adoption program centres by 2023. I am from Anantpur, Andhra Pradesh. I enjoy spending time with nature and love to learn new things like reading books and listening to insightful speeches.

 2) You developed a course that intends on making a person a good human being. Tell us about that.

Our team developed an ecosystem that intends on creating a harmonious environment for children. The highlights from the course are :

Gardening- we have every child, planting a sapling. They water it, clean it and monitor it everyday. It is a fun activity where children develop environmental concerns.

Nurturing optimism- We encourage children to share with others the positives they observed in their friends that week. It may be skill or a quality. This helps them develop positive outlook towards life.

Gratitude- every night children remember three moments of the day for which they were grateful or feel thankful for.

 3) What is the impact of the value based activities and regular sessions on the children?

Generally we tend to focus on things that we don’t have or things that don’t go our way. Magic happens when we simply try to think and stay positive. We are also working on developing metrics to incorporate harmony on certain core qualities like optimism, sharing, gratitude etc. While this seems to be simple, it’s scientifically proven to improve children’s psychological and physical health and their self esteem. The model we have crafted – consciously and subconsciously teaches gender equality, secularism, and equality across caste, class, creed and color– is scalable to the rest of the world. Moreover we raise our children like a family and view our campus as a home where children are raised in a value based ecosystem that empowers them to be the agents of the humanity.

4) Tell us about CAP ?

CAP( Child Adoption Program),  is running in a pilot and under this we are developing a scalable model where in we are developing children to become socially responsible citizens and agents of harmony. With the success of this pilot we now aim to establish 2500 centres by 2023.

5) What is “Make the world wonderful society” initiative ?

I founded “Make the world wonderful society”, when I was 17. I began to search for a suitable team for myself, and connected with Khyathi from Hyderabad, Saumya Katuri (18) from California, and Pranita Garimella (20) from New York. Age was no object – I felt it was the right opportunity, and the right people had come along, so, naturally, it was as good a time as any to start. Age was just a number to me – the clarity of my vision and change I wanted to create made me feel that I was ready to start up. Today, we look after every activity of the initiative. Here, we follow 100% transparency. The finances, policies etc are kept open to public on our website. We aim to raise a generation of children in an empowering culture of harmony.
