“Don’t keep your feelings sheltered – express them. Don’t ever let life shut you up.” says Dr. Steve Maraboli.

It’s true. Most of us just keep our feelings bottled up. Be it happiness or sadness, we do not express it. Most of the problems we face in life like stress, tension is due to this. Why don’t we let out our feelings and say what we exactly feel? We are not able to do so because we are conditioned by our society and traditions not to reveal our feelings.

Jaspreet Kaur-"THe Secret Tales"

Meet  Jaspreet Kaur who is a blogger turned author, who reveals to us how her journey of writing about her feelings in a blog has eventually turned her into a writer. Jaspreet always wanted to be a 3D architect then a Graphic Designer. So this sudden development in her life, becoming an author is a pleasant surprise. It all started with her blog, The Secret Tales. It was the number of followers she got on her Instagram account and the encouragement of her cousins that got started with her blog. Once she started writing, there was nothing stopping her.

She is happy about having a platform to express her feelings. At the same time, she sometimes feels that her feelings and emotions are so intense that “millions of words fall short to write about how I feel.” There is a purpose to her blog and her book. She wants to help as many people as she can to heal themselves in their bad times.

Let’s meet Jaspreet And Figure out the Secret Behind “The Secret Tales”

In talks with Jaspreet Kaur:

Ques:  What motivates you to write a blog “THE SECRET TALES” ?

My biggest motivation is when my readers started supporting. Sometimes, it really made me happy how people came up with their views that they felt connected with my writings. And obviously, God’s grace and family’s support always gave a way to my writing.

Ques: Your first novel “The Secret Tales” was a big hit. How was your experience? And are you heading towards next?

Yes! I am very glad that my followers appreciated my work and many people reached my blog after reading my book. This is the feeling that I will cherish my whole life. I remember the day when I first saw my book in my hands, I ran out of words and my eyes were in tears.

Yes, I am planning to write my next book.

Ques: You have amazing writing skills. Your poetry and write ups are liked by huge no. of fans. Where do the ideas come from while writing something?

Most of the ideas hit my mind from real life. I always write what I feel and what I observe about the people around me. I always feel like writing only at two phases of my life. One is whenever I felt like I am so much happy and second one is whenever I felt like my world is drifting apart from me. So, this happiness and sadness of my life make me ready to write, whether it’s 2:00 am or 2:00 pm.

Ques: Who all were the constant supporters and motivators?

I have been very lucky that I am blessed with supportive parents, siblings, cousins, and friends. My constant supporters were my cousins who have always encouraged me to follow the love for my writing.

Ques: Was it easy for you to change a sudden from a Graphic designer of the digital marketing company to start your own blog?

No! I will not say that I’m full time writer because I still work as a freelancer graphic designer. I still remember, when I started to scribble my feelings, my friends used to say that I have spark in my eyes for writing. Just believing in myself carries my heart to writing.

Ques: Do you remember the first story that was written by you?

Yes! I do remember the first story I wrote. When my sister got married and after she left our home, I started missing her and expressed my feelings. So, I would like to share a few lines from that poem.

The moments we used to fight about sharing our clothes will be missed,
That’s all right! You’ll always be with me in those clothes we wove our fights around.
That’s all right! Because this is not the end!
You’ll always be my sister first!

Ques: What all you learned before starting your own venture?

Before starting my venture, I hadn’t researched about anything because being a part of digital marketing agency, I knew some of the things like how to handle blogging and all that stuff. But with the flow of time, I had learned so many things and because of that, today I am here.

Ques: what is your key to success?

I will not say that today I am successful but what I know that I am on the road to success. My key to success is my happiness and my heart. I loved the idea of writing from my heart. And I believe that Almighty has gifted us the most beautiful thing and that is “feelings” and just because of them, I am able to write today.
