Ever Wondered What If Birds Could Speak? Read This Story To Know How Deshpande Foundation Heard Them.

The Leaders Accelerating Development (LEAD) Program of Deshpande Foundation, Hubballi, Karnataka fosters innovative and entrepreneurial thinking within college students by exposing them to social issues and by encouraging them to volunteer their time and effort into the community. LEAD ignites their talent to come up with creative solutions.
LEADers of Davangere observed the difficulty that the birds face during summers. Most of the water from sources for them dries up and hence they keep wandering for water in order to quench their thirst. They took up an initiative to help out the birds this summer.

LEADers Rohan and Megha along with their teams collected waste bottles and filled the containers with grains and hung them around in various parts of the city. Many students came together to work for a cause.
The crowd also responded very positively. Everybody appreciated the thought and the growing sympathy among young students towards the birds.

The children of the locality also participated actively. The challenge faced as a part of this project was to convince the people about the motive and talk how their little contribution could make lives easy and beautiful for their fellow creatures. This project was not just for a day. They had a talk with all the people at the implementation spot and explained to them their vision. They also requested them to keep refilling the containers as and when possible.

LEAD strongly believes that, “its an incubator where innovation meets implementation, knowledge meets experience, social issues meet solutions and efforts meet impact”.
