“If you have the vision clear then it’s a calculated risk

Meet SAMARTH SWARUP, 22 years old Singer, Music Director and Producer From Jaipur having over 2,108,331 viewers. Samarth is a Graduate in Bachelor’s in Management Studies from Mithibai College, University of Mumbai.

On being asked about the risk involved in creating mashups of popular songs which have already been recreated several times by independent artists, the singer who had created the amazing mashup of Gerua and Sorry (one of my personal favorites) tells us, “Whenever I produce my music, I have the sound of the full track (in my mind) even before creating the new project in my software. That helps me a lot! That particular sound is my vision for the entire song, and that makes it a calculated risk for me”

Let’s see what Samarth has to say about it.

1. How did singing/ music happen to you?

To be honest, there wasn’t any incident that marked the beginning of my singing or music. Music was with me since childhood. Only my places have changed from an inquisitive listener, to a wanna be musician and finally now in the spot of an actual singer and producer. The journey is still on. I have always been highly explorative and observant. I think this is the only reason I managed to pull off whatever little that I have. Though I have never been trained in music I grew up with my own rules and patterns.
And as I said, this is a journey with no end and each road has got thousands of thrilling packages for you.

2. What inspired you since Childhood to become a performer?

The hangover of music. Or should I say the curiosity of at least knowing about this thing called “Music” which had such a massive impact on me. I was always fascinated to know how was it done and how it’s made. Music gave me peace and pleasure.

3. How did you feel like when Sonu Nigam tweeted about your latest Music Video and appreciated your singing and Music production?

It was last year when this mash-up scene was just picking up and I had released my mash-up version of Gerua and Sorry which was loved by various artists apart from the general audiences. It was an overwhelming thing to know when I saw Sonu sir tweeting about me and my music and asking millions of his followers to listen to my music.

4. How has your journey been so far? Graduate in Business Management, Singer and Performer by passion. How everything goes so smooth in a flow?

It’s really tough to balance studies if you are an above average student in school and college. I scored a 93% in commerce stream in my school and also topped my school in some subjects. Got an A grade in my graduation from Mithibai college, Mumbai. And all this while my music was going on as my passion. It is always a pressure like this. You can never loose on to one thing because of the other. Had I been a below average scholar, I wouldn’t have thought much about my Business Management Graduation from such a prestigious college.
It’s been a year that I’ve been doing music professionally now. I have a full fledged recording studio where I make my own music and rarely do other freelance work when I have free time.

5. You always remain in limelights for your shows and concerts and also have a huge fan following. How this thing motivates you?

It’s just the love of my fans and friends and the blessings of my elders. It brings up my responsibility to keep my work going and give them awesome music frequently on my YouTube channel.

6. You have done shows in Thailand And UK too. How is the Culture their different from India.

Shows at such venues have awesome audience which also responds amazingly. This is because, the audience there gets very few bollywood events or shows like these whereas, we have almost have 2-3 such events every weekend here in India. So I enjoy a lot seeing such awesome response from the NRI people and their Zeal towards Indian culture and music.

7. What are your upcoming projects.

Coming up with many new Music Videos on my official YouTube Channel. Apart from that, I am also working with some music directors and producing music. Will soon update with the news.

8. Some words for our readers and people who are motivated to start the same venture.

Although my journey has just started. I would only say a few words for the aspiring musicians and singers. Be passionate, explorative and self reliant. Knowing your weaknesses and mistakes works much more than knowing your strengths and good deeds. Best wishes to all your readers and love to all my fans and friends.
Thank you Samarth for your prestigious Words. May you achieve heights of success. – Amulya Garg
