FASTag:

FASTag is a device/sticker that employs Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for making toll payments directly from the prepaid wallet or savings account linked to it. It is affixed on the windscreen of the assigned vehicle and enables the user to drive through toll plazas along National Highways and selected State Highways in India, without stopping for cash transactions.
FASTag is currently operational at over 480 toll plazas along National Highways and selected State Highways in India. Also, the Government of India has mandated fitment of FASTag on all new vehicles manufactured or sold after post 1st December 2017.

NHAI FASTag:

NHAI FASTag is a "bank-neutral" FASTag i.e. no bank is pre-assigned to the FASTag at the time of purchase by the customer and may be linked to a saving bank account/a wallet. It offers the flexibility to a customer to link the FASTag with his or her existing bank account by using My FASTag mobile app. Currently 7 banks viz, SBI, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, IndusInd Bank, Paytm Payments Banks and Equitas SF Bank are live on the My FASTag App (Currently Available on Google Playstore) and more banks are in the process of being added..

Important Note:

It is essential to affix the FASTag on the windscreen of the vehicle as described in the Instruction Manual. If the FASTag is found NOT affixed on the windscreen of the assigned vehicle at a toll plaza, it is liable to be blacklisted and the customer will have to pay cash.
