To test for smearing, we treated on half of our cars windshield with Rain Clear Gel and drove in the rain, under 45 mph, with the wipers on. The side treated with Rain Clear remained clear and virtually smear free. The uncoated side smeared at every wiper speed, dramatically reducing vision. At speeds over 45 mph, with the wipers off, it was no contest. The Rain Clear treated side offered unrestricted vision. Water never filmed.
