Are Women Safe? Atleast In The Virtual World? No. So This Is What Every Single Person Must Do

lead

The Leaders Accelerating Development (LEAD) Program of Deshpande Foundation, Karnataka fosters innovative and entrepreneurial thinking within college students by exposing them to social issues and by encouraging them to volunteer their time and effort into the community.

LEAD, one of the most prominent organisation functioning at Davangere in Karnataka, under its wing has implemented women’s self defense campaign in DRM Science College of Davangere. ‘Mohhamed Sadiqhulla M.’ is a man behind this  campaign.

An important aim of his project was helping girls to make them strong enough and defend themselves in the critical situations.

Sadiqhulla implemented the self-defense project on the occasion of International
Women’s Day, 8th March.
His vigorous struggle for the required arrangements for this campaign gave him the outcome in the form of appreciation from DRM College, as in his initial camp there were 100 girls who went through basic training of self defense of Karate. Sadiqhulla says “It was very difficult to make required arrangements for the camp where around 100 girls could be trained with Rs. 450 as the funding received from my faculties.”

While sharing his earlier experience at camp , he said that, at the beginning girls were shy as for most of them this activity was new but later they greatly engaged in this activity. Even girls from the camp appreciated this cause and hence this project was successful.

Sadiqhulla strongly believes that self defense is very crucial for every girl in today’s scenario as the face of world is becoming more vicious and challenging and if once they are caught in this, it becomes very difficult to get back.

In conversation with Sadiqhulla:

LEAD and Women Empowerment, would you like to say something? Tell us about the self defense campaign you implemented.

It is not just a self defense training but its a responsibility to uplift women in order to make them able to fight with the vicious face of this world.

As you worked vehemently in past for women, how you are planing to continue it in future?

Yes, I’ll definitely continue this work as I want to target other audience from different places of our country. I am also planing to introduce new techniques of self-defense as I believe strongly that each and every girl should learn self defense.

Apart from DRM College, Who are your target audience?

Hmm, it is not currently decided but will surely target audience from any other prominent college.

While arranging monetary help, how was your initial struggle?

As I said earlier that in order to launch this campaign I just received rupees 450 from LEAD and it was very difficult to arrange the adequate places but as I received the response from audience, I consider it as the best outcome of my struggle.
