In conversation with Sarvam Patel :

1. Since when have you started with your artwork and what made you interested in this field?

Artwork was something I enjoyed right from my childhood. I love creating, innovating and exploring art, sand art being one of them. There was a time when it was something to play with and I gradually got serious about sand art specially when people kept on appreciating after watching me perform sand art. Hence, I thought of making it a passionate profession.

2. What kind of art do you mainly indulge yourself in and why?

There are various forms of artwork that I do but mainly its the SAND ART. For me sand art is emotion, through it I can depict life stories of people. Sand connects me with the hidden emotions of such stories.

3. The Bahubali Sand art of yours made you really famous worldwide, so how was the experience all together of getting this level of popularity?

It was just unbelievable and I actually never thought about getting such a reaction. But yes the immense love of people all around that I received gave me a lot of enthusiasm about my work and made me more confident. This was a very happy and blessed moment for me and I am very grateful for this.

4. What are your biggest achievements?

I might have many achievements but the biggest one would be that initially my parents were very confused about my work as they did not have any idea about sand art and it’s future possibilities. So, I felt a bit unsupported, but yet I continued with my work. Now at this stage they are more than happy and proud of me, therefore this is the biggest achievement of my life.

5. What is the most memorable thing that you have experienced in this field?

INDIA’S GOT TALENT is my life changing and memorable experience. Once upon a time while having dinner with my family, we were watching India’s Got Talent when my dad said, “when will you do such work and make me feel proud?”. After certain period of time while having dinner with my parents we watched the same show as it showed ME, that was the moment when my dad went emotional and had tears in his eyes as he was feeling proud of me. Nothing can be more memorable than this happy memory. His happiness means the most to me in this world.

6. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

Fact of the life is that no one knows about their future, similarly I’m not aware of what I will be but definitely I just want to create the biggest platform for artists like me out there who are waiting for their chances and hoping for a bright future but not getting enough opportunities to do so.

7. What’s your favorite art work and why?

Well I do have a lot of favorites and nothing specific as such, but I get highly fascinated by artworks creating portraits of horses using various mediums.

My father’s happiness matters the most to me- Sarvam Patel

8. What do you like and dislike about the art world?

There’s nothing like ” likes and dislikes ” about art specially. Art is a beautiful language which can be felt, be connected with and is full of expressions, without uttering a word. Art is transparent and pure.

9. Tell us about the struggles that you’ve faced in this field?

There’s struggle in everyone’s life so was with me and I don’t want to disclose it. Just one thing I would like to say is one should learn from the past experiences and move on as I did and should always keep up the good work.

10. Any message you would like to give to all the upcoming young artists?

Art should be a passion rather than a money making profession. Art can be sold but not the inborn talent, so one should respect and value the art and one’s own talent. Nothing is impossible just trust yourself, be confident and go on with your dreams.
