Ms. Vidya Tikari is a freelance make up artist <\/strong>who loves to travel and thinks that travel and work makes the best pair ever. \u00a0She has now become a very common name when it comes to professional make up artists. She has helped to style hair and makeup of people in events like Commonwealth Games 2010<\/strong> for over 9,000 performers. She has worked with eminent personalities like Abhay Deol, Chetan Bhagat and Malaika Arora <\/strong>to name a few.<\/p>\n

She was born in Kolkata. She says that anyone can add color to a face but knowing ‘how to’ and ‘When to’ takes a skillful and professional eye. She wanted to become a make up artist from the age of 5 and thus she passionately started working and she is now where she always wanted to be! 1. When did you realize that you wanted to become a makeup artist?<\/h3>\n

I knew from the age of 5 that makeup and styling interested me. After that as the time passed I grew more and more interested in make up and styling. \u201cAnyone can add color to a face but knowing \u201cHow to\u201d and \u201cWhen to\u201d takes a skillful and professional eye\u201d and that still remains very close to our hearts, and have rightfully become our specialty. The roles of being a Professional Artist, an Entrepreneur, a Trainer and a Customer focused person doesn\u2019t even come close to the biggest responsibility of being a Mother. Every day I learn so much from them and that helps me be more and more creative with my art.<\/p>\n

2. Was it difficult to come out of the stereotypical society and follow your dreams and passions?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n
\n
In a way it was easier than if I grew up in India. I started up my journey in Australia. Australia allowed me to be who I am today and the opportunity that it gave me was so that I could start up as an artist in India. So, stereotypical society was never a problem for me.<\/div>\n

\u00a03. Who supported you the most?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

I did it myself. According to me, you yourself should be your biggest support. My parents were definitely there as support. Without their support I would not be able to anything. My friends were always there to support me.<\/p>\n

4. Did you learn everything by yourself or did you go to a professional university to learn this?<\/h3>\n

I did a professional course in Brisbane Australia in applied science : Beauty therapy. Then eventually took up makeup as my main subject. The journey since the first studio inception has been a challenging one and the experiences have been humbling and rewarding. Based in Lajpat Nagar 2, the main (and first) head studio is also where the academy is situated.<\/p>\n

Makeup may not be everyone\u2019s cup of tea, but it surely brightens up the moment!!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0I would have been in the travel industry as traveling excites me. According to me, travel and work makes the best pair ever. Traveling inspires me a lot. I want to travel the whole world with my friends and family.<\/div>\n
