Karina Arora, a 19-year-old<\/strong> is a high school pass out from Springdales, Pusa Road<\/strong> who brought out the heart endearing novel named “The Spirit Of The River<\/strong>“. Karina who is currently pursuing her bachelor’s in management from Sydney<\/strong> is delighted with the response she has received on her first launch. Here is a short excerpt on her book and some answers about the work:-<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re all travelers; wouldn\u2019t you agree? In this world of constant change, we\u2019re all travelers worn out from carrying excess baggage. Each one of us has our own share of overstuffed backpacks with every kind of emotional and spiritual load. So what happens when a gush of life topples us over, with no one to help us back up on our feet?”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

1.Tell us about your book. What do you want to portray in it?<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s a fictional novel about a girl who loses her parents and travels to a therapeutic centre in the Himalayas where she interacts with people from different walks of life who share their own stories with her and help her get over her grief and learn to love life again.<\/p>\n

2. Is this your first book or have you written before as well?<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s the first book<\/strong> I\u2019ve published, but not the first book I\u2019ve written. I have written other texts also but this is the first book to be published but I am hoping to produce more books in future. Currently, I am working on other scripts as well.<\/p>\n

3. When did you start writing this book. What is so unusual about the time?<\/h3>\n

I started when I was 18 and finished it before I turned 19. I wrote most of it during my board exams<\/strong>. So, this is the unusual thing about my writing. I write whenever I feel like writing, not limiting myself to situations or circumstances. Maybe when everybody was engrossed in their textbooks, I was working on my imagination and creating a piece of literature.<\/p>\n

4. What encouraged you to write “The Spirit Of River”?<\/h3>\n

I visited this place \u2013 Banjar Valley, where the story takes place. I always take inspiration from my surroundings and it amazes me that people who go through so much pain still have the strength and courage to move. So, in a way, we can say it’s appreciation of the efforts people make to enhance their life for betterment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

5. Who has been your inspiration from this industry?<\/h3>\n

I love Jhumpa Lahiri\u2019s<\/strong> books. I followed her short story format but connected the stories together. Many of my writings and mainly the narrative structure is influenced by her writings. So, she definitely acts as a muse in my life inspired from whom I wrote this book, completed it, and it got published.<\/strong><\/p>\n

6. How does it feel after all the positive response you have received?<\/h3>\n

It feels great and I am extremely lucky to have received such a response<\/strong>. The way people have liked the book is actually very encouraging. When the work of a writer is appreciated the efforts, pain, and time which is manifested in the text seems to be utilized.\u00a0Therefore, I considered myself lucky enough to get this response\u00a0on my first book itself which motivates me to bring out more.<\/p>\n

7. How proud is your family on your achievement?<\/h3>\n

My family is very happy and proud of me. They have always been extremely supportive and encouraging. It is much of their support, love, and care towards me and my work which pays off at the end. The expectation and trust people put in you do come out with a magnificent result at the end.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That it\u2019s important to express yourself and be who you are. Surround yourself with people who always have your back and be the kind of person who can adjust to any situation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
