Let’s catch up with Mishmee :

1. How and when did acting happen to you?

People always ask me when did you decide you want to be an actor?  They ask me how did I come into acting ? .. Yes acting happened to me. I never planned to be an actor. I got my first modelling assignment when I was 16. Then the channel head of Zee Bangla saw my picture in a Bengali magazine and called me for an audition. And that is how it all happened.

2.  Who inspired you to become an actress?

God. Haha. I never planned to be an actor. I never had to struggle or put an effort to get a break. The offer came to me, so yeah god .. and if you ask me human inspiration, then I would say my first director, Mr Anup Chakraborty ; he’s the man who taught me everything. Without his schooling I wouldn’t have been what I am today

3. What were the initial days struggle? How did you cope up with the things coming your way?

I’m very lucky that I never had to struggle. Everything was given to me in a platter. Like I said I never struggled for the offer and I had to struggle with the job .. it wasn’t easy. It demands a lot of hard work .. and I joined the show at a point where they had already aired 150 episodes. My character was already established and I knew nothing about acting.

4. Where do you see yourself five years down the line ?

I never really thought I would be an actor. I wanted to be a CA. I was even preparing for cpt. I really don’t know where I see myself 5-10 years down the line. I take everyday as it comes.

5. To be an established actress you need to be able to measure your success and build on this. How do you evaluate success within your role?

I don’t know about success actually. You can’t really call yourself successful until you have everything, and I don’t think I’ve reached that point where I feel I have everything.

6. Talk us through some of your biggest achievements to date. Why were these memorable to you, and how did you achieve them?

One of my biggest achievements is people recognising me as an actor and not just a person who comes on TV. Honestly I don’t want fame or money or anything. I just want to do different roles and do justice to the characters I play.

7. Since the beginning of your career tell us about a situation that has made you proud. Why was this, and what was the outcome?

Honestly when I got the offer I took it because I wanted to be rich and famous. But when I actually started working I realised that it’s way more than that. It demands a lot of hard work ; physical and emotional. Today I can proudly say that I can work very very hard in any situation. I won’t make any comments on my acting because that’s for other people to judge but I think I do a decent job.

8. In this industry success is not guaranteed, failures are inevitable. How do you cope up with these failures and what challenges does it bring in your path of becoming a successful actress?

Not just in this industry …everywhere. I did two back to back shows and then I was out of work for almost 8 months. But I didn’t sit and sulk. Because I had no work, I made my own film in this period. It’s going to release soon and I acted in a film too. So yeah I believe you should never give up. You should keep working and if you have some free time then it’s god’s way of telling you that you need to learn new things and do what your heart says
