Delhi University changes its Reservation Policy and Pattern

Delhi University has lately been criticized for its unfair reservation practice along with the needs to meet high cutoffs by General Category students. But, now there have been a few more changes in the reservation pattern which should be taken into account before proceeding towards the admissions.

Earlier a total of 27% seats were reserved for the OBC students, 22.5% for the Scheduled Class and Tribes, and 3% for the PWD students (Persons With Disabilities).

Changes made in reservation rule in Delhi University

The changes which have been introduced now are as follows:-

Armed Forces (5%) quota in DU Admission 2017

Kashmiri Migrants (5%) quota in DU Admission 2017

Person With Disabilities (5%) quota in DU Admission 2017

The university has revised the quota for Persons with Disabilities from 3% to 5%.

Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (22.5%) quota in DU Admission 2017

Note:  If the student is eligible for open merit for admission, that student would not be given admission through reservation rather will be taken in through General quota only. The 27% seats which were reserved for the OBC students entitled to no changes.
