APOGEE – CYBERNETIC VISION
APOGEE is the annual, international technical festival of BITS Pilani, one of the best colleges across India.
APOGEE ’18 will be the 36th edition, an experience of ‘A Cybernetic Vision’, and shall be hosted at BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus from 21st February to 25th February 2018. Expecting participation of around 8000 students from more than 100 colleges this year.
Cybernetics is a trans-disciplinary approach for exploring regulatory systems – their structures, constraints and possibilities. In other words, it is the scientific study of how humans, animals and machines control and communicate with each other. Its focus is on the processing of information and reaction to the information by a system and the changes that can be made to better accomplish these tasks. The relevance of Cybernetics extends across mechanical, physical, biological, cognitive and social systems.

EVENTS AT APOGEE
Around 80+ events, which include Technical Events, International Coding League, Robots-at-war, Full Throttle Grand Prix, and many more, aims to incline students towards intellectual and innovative participation in the fest. AAROHAN– A National level examination for Engineering Aspirants, Technical Workshops,Exhibitions in various fields, Paper Presentations and Project Competitions inspires young minds and add to the audience of the fest. Entertainment Stars like Zakir Khan, Abish Mathew, The Indian Jam Project, Roy Zaltsman, etc., and performances in the field of Dance, Drama, Mime, etc. add flavour of the technical domain created around the campus.

PAPER PRESENTATION AND PROJECTS
Paper presentation forms the core event of APOGEE that showcases a wide range of technical and review papers on a spectrum of topics ranging from industrial applications to the very latest scientific innovations.
APOGEE exhibits over 550 projects in various fields of science and engineering. Based on practical application, they showcase unparalleled excellence. Some of the categories of Projects include Electronics, Environment, Software Development and Mathematical Modelling.
AAROHAN
AAROHAN is a national level examination crafted and conducted by the students of BITS Pilani in schools. The examination is conducted for classes IX, X, XI and XII. The aim of this examination is to inculcate scientific temperament and get the coming generation interested towards scientific and technical development studies. All that only at a cost of Rs. 150 per student.
Apart from a right-hand exposure to a national level exam and an opportunity to compete with students from schools across India, Aarohan has a lot more to do. You will get an ‘All India Rank’(AIR) and a certificate of participation. The school and city toppers will get a certificate of merit stating the same and would also get exciting prizes according to their ranks. The winners will be invited to BITS Pilani’s technical fest APOGEE. They’ll have access to all the events and workshops happening on the campus and have round two and some other events exclusively for them. And on a materialistic and tangible scale, there’ll be exciting goodies and prizes as well as the opportunity to interact with the most progressive minds of the country.
