This post will take you to a journey with our beloved company from <strong>Motorola Inc.<\/strong> to <strong>Motorola Mobility<\/strong> to\u00a0<strong>Motorola a Google Company<\/strong> to <strong>Motorola a Lenovo company<\/strong> to finally just <strong>Moto by Lenovo.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Motorola-Inc.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-619\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-619\" src=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Motorola-Inc.jpg\" alt=\"Motorola Inc\" width=\"300\" height=\"84\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Motorola is a United States of America based company which started it&#8217;s journey in Chicago, Illinois in 1928 with two brothers, Paul V. and Joseph E. Galvin. Soon they changed the name to Motorola Inc. (Motor+Ola) just the way we remember it. Without their microprocessors and cellular communication systems we may have been still way back in the past in terms of gadget and electronic world.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">DID YOU KNOW??<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In 1998 Motorola was overtaken by <strong>Nokia<\/strong> as the world&#8217;s biggest seller of mobile phone handsets.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As time passed Motorola changed in various different ways, they separated their semiconductor business and later down the road also had to layoff a whole lot of people because of the every growing employee base.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/3060000000053165.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-626\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-626\" src=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/3060000000053165.jpg\" alt=\"3060000000053165\" width=\"425\" height=\"302\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/3060000000053165.jpg 425w, https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/3060000000053165-300x213.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 425px) 100vw, 425px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The company kept innovating new tech:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It introduced world&#8217;s first fully functional PDA combining Linux OS and Java.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Later it came up with it&#8217;s <strong>RAZR<\/strong> series which took the company to <strong>No.2<\/strong> in mobile phone department .<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Time passed by and soon Motorola saw some loss in market which lead to the company dividing into 2 separate companies in 2011, namely <strong>Motorola Solutions <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">(BLUE)<\/span><\/strong> and <strong>Motorola Mobility <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(RED)<\/span>.<\/strong> The Motorola Solutions being the actual legal successor to Motorola Inc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Motorola-Solutions.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-628\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-628\" src=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Motorola-Solutions.png\" alt=\"Motorola Solutions\" width=\"269\" height=\"231\" \/><\/a><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Motorola-Mobility.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-627\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-627\" src=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Motorola-Mobility-1024x192.jpg\" alt=\"Motorola Mobility\" width=\"640\" height=\"120\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Motorola-Mobility-1024x192.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Motorola-Mobility-300x56.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Motorola-Mobility-768x144.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Motorola-Mobility.jpg 1114w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Later that year Google proposed to buy Motorola Mobility and the stockholders happily approved this proposal.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Which lead us to &#8220;<strong>Motorola a Google company<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Under Google the company again started rising to a point where\u00a0Motorola sold 6.5 million phones in just a quarter of the year 2014. Most of these sales came from the budget line-up including <strong>Moto G<\/strong> and<strong> Moto E<\/strong> which had a great impact on emerging markets like <strong>India<\/strong> and some parts of <strong>UK.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Motorola.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-629\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-629\" src=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Motorola.jpg\" alt=\"Motorola\" width=\"1017\" height=\"530\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Motorola.jpg 1017w, https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Motorola-300x156.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Motorola-768x400.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1017px) 100vw, 1017px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As we all know Motorola just came by a flood and hit India with an insanely high number of sales. Under Google, the company released the original <strong>Moto X<\/strong> which became so popular in US specially with it&#8217;s moto maker service, then came the<strong> Moto G<\/strong> which was aimed at emerging markets like India where people are always looking for great specs at cheap prices. Moto G was just perfect for us and with the whole Moto X hype people were even more attracted to Motorola and it did turn out the exact same way that we expected it to.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Moto-G-and-Moto-X-Powered-by-Google.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-631\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-631 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Moto-G-and-Moto-X-Powered-by-Google.jpg\" alt=\"Moto G smartphone offers\" width=\"1000\" height=\"470\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Moto-G-and-Moto-X-Powered-by-Google.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Moto-G-and-Moto-X-Powered-by-Google-300x141.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Moto-G-and-Moto-X-Powered-by-Google-768x361.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a>We know the rest, how Motorola had an immense success with Moto G (I won&#8217;t lie I myself was dying to get my hands on the phone) but you would ask why did Google buy Motorola? Google wasn&#8217;t initially aiming to bring Motorola to emerging markets what it actually wanted was to save themselves from the patent war that was going on at that time. So it was a win win situation for both Motorola and Google. Although Moto G was going well but they still hadn&#8217;t reach the low budget smartphone universe so they decided to come up with <strong>Moto E<\/strong>. This gave rise to the name &#8220;<strong>Motorola a Lenovo company<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Although Google sold most of the units and parts of the company it did however keep <strong>ATAP<\/strong>\u00a0( Advanced Technologies &amp; Projects)\u00a0unit as it was closely integrated in Google and it did keep a large number of patents to itself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/motorola-lenovo-logo.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-632\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-632\" src=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/motorola-lenovo-logo-300x190.jpg\" alt=\"motorola lenovo logo\" width=\"600\" height=\"379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/motorola-lenovo-logo-300x190.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/motorola-lenovo-logo-768x485.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/motorola-lenovo-logo.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Lenovo wanted the company because being a Chinese company it wasn&#8217;t able to grab much of the attention in US markets, this was going to be an awesome chance to do that and Motorola was a well established, talented and a great company when it came to Smartphone technology. During the acquisition Motorola released the second generation of their already famous devices (<strong>Moto G (2014), Moto X (2014)<\/strong>)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_9944-980x481.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-633\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-633 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_9944-980x481.jpg\" alt=\"Moto G &amp; Moto E offers online\" width=\"980\" height=\"481\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_9944-980x481.jpg 980w, https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_9944-980x481-300x147.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.paisawapas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_9944-980x481-768x377.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Under Lenovo the company remained to work the same way with least interference, the company released quite a few devices under it&#8217;s new ownership in 2015 namely &#8220;<strong>Moto G 3rd Gen, Moto X Play <\/strong>and<strong> Moto X Style<\/strong>&#8221; following the same <em><strong>&#8220;Stock&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> android approach. A few months later in August they decided to merge their own smartphone division into the<strong> Motorola Mobility<\/strong> unit and would still continue to sell devices under both the Motorola and Lenovo brands. That would definitely upset the Motorola lovers, so in order to keep the masses happy they did say that no change was going to take place the unit will still remain the same and the smartphone line-up would now be under the names &#8220;Moto by Lenovo&#8221; and &#8220;Vibe by Lenovo&#8221;.
