Apple’s latest iterations to the iPhone series was launched recently namely the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.
\nWe studied both the phones in detail.While some view Apple\u2019s new iPhones merely as incremental upgrades, there are those\u00a0who feel that both the iPhones pack in quite some new features.<\/p>\n

Here we give you\u00a05\u00a0reasons for why you should buy the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and six reasons why you shouldn’t. So that you can make a well aware decision when you go for these guys.<\/p>

Starting with the reasons you should buy the new iPhones.<\/h2>\n

1. Powerful cameras<\/h1>\n

While the rear cameras in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are still 12MP modules (with the iPhone 7 Plus having two 12MP units at the back), they have been improved quite a bit.<\/p>\n

The rear cameras now have Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and the iPhone 7 Plus\u2019 dual camera setup even makes 2x optical zoom possible. Both devices also have better 7MP FaceTime HD cameras.<\/p>\n

2. Stereo Sound<\/h1>\n

Although not the best implementation I would say but the latest iPhones finally come with a pair of stereo speakers. The earpiece would act as one speaker and the bottom firing speaker would be the second one. These speakers change channels based on the orientation.<\/p>\n

\"iPhone<\/a><\/p>\n

If you love watching movies and playing games on your smartphone, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are definitely worth considering. Both new devices now come with stereo speakers, with one each at the top and bottom of the display. These are likely to make for an immersive audio experience.<\/p>\n

3. Upgraded processors<\/h1>\n

Like always Apple has upgraded the processors on the new iPhones<\/p>\n

Both the new \u00a0iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are powered by a brand new 64-bit A10 Fusion chipset. Designed by Apple, it has a quad-core CPU with two high-performance cores and two energy-efficient cores for better battery life.<\/p>\n

The A10 also comes with a new hexa-core GPU that\u2019s 50% faster than the GPU on the A9 chipset powering the previous-generation iPhone 6.<\/span><\/div>\n

4. More Internal Storage<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Apple has finally removed the 16GB variant and the latest iPhone lineup starts at 32GB internal storage and goes up to a whopping 256GB.<\/div>\n

With that, All variants of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus offer double the storage capacity \u2013 32GB, 128GB and 256GB, when compared to their corresponding predecessors.<\/div>\n

5. New And Improved Home Button<\/h1>\n

For the first time since Apple introduced its iPhones to the world, the iconic Home button in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus has seen a change.\u00a0The home button on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus is now a solid state button.\u00a0It\u2019s now powered by a \u2018Taptic Engine\u2019 and is force touch sensitive.<\/p>\n

So, instead of actually pressing the button will detect different levels of pressures on the home button.\u00a0Pressing the new home button now generates a similar taptic response as is generated when 3D Touch is used.<\/p>\n

…but with all the goodness come some drawbacks too…<\/h2>\n

1. Display (Still low on resolution)<\/h1>\n

In the world of Quad HD displays the iPhones are lacking the sharpness and beauty in the latest flagship displays.<\/p>\n

While,\u00a0iPhone 7 screen features same Retina HD display as the one in Apple\u2019s previous-generation handsets (iPhone 6S and iPhone 6s Plus). The iPhone 7 Plus comes with a Full HD display.<\/p>\n

Apple claims that the display now offers a wider colour gamut as compared to the previous standard (sRGB) display. Even with the color enhancement the iPhones can’t stand in front of the inky black high density AMOLED displays.<\/p>\n

2. Battery Life<\/h1>\n

Let’s be honest Apple hasn’t been very well known for battery life. \u00a0Almost all the\u00a0previous iPhone owners found themselves reaching for the charger mid way past the day.<\/p>\n

Although Apple did improve the battery in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus and the removal of headphone jack (which we will discuss in a moment) provided them the space to achieve that.\u00a0While Apple’s new iPhone 7 model boasts two more hours of battery life than the iPhone 6, smartphone test show that the iPhone 6 only last 7.2 hours playing videos, while Samsung Galaxy S7 last 11 hours.<\/p>\n

3. Removal Of 3.5mm Headphone Jack<\/h1>\n

Like the rumors suggested Apple has removed the 3.5mm audio jack on the new\u00a0iPhone 7 range.<\/p>\n

This means users won\u2019t be able to use their existing 3.5mm headphones with the new handsets till they use the Lightning to 3.5mm adapter.\u00a0The smartphone, however, ships with earpods with Lightning connectors and the adapter in order to bridge the gap but then comes the concern of charging while using the headsets.<\/p>\n

\"iphone-7-bottom-no<\/a><\/p>\n

Also,\u00a0the newly introduced Apple AirPods use a different wireless technology from Bluetooth and it is likely they won’t work with non-Apple products.<\/p>\n

4. Jet Black Variant<\/h1>\n

I would say that the jet black variant of the iPhones is just not\u00a0worth it. Apple themselves admit that the glossy finish is prone to scratches and they recommend you a case for it which would most probably hide the glossy jet black color and would altogether hide the one thing the jet black variant is unique at.<\/p>\n

Also, the jet black variant is not available in 32GB variant. So you have to go with either 128GB or 256GB variant.<\/p>\n

5. Design<\/h1>\n

There hasn’t been a major change in the design language of the iPhones this year.\u00a0Both iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus sport the same design as their predecessors – iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. In fact, it is also the same design as that of the two-year old iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models.<\/p>\n

There are just a few minor changes here and there like the re-positioning of the antenna bands but like i said no major change in the look and feel.<\/p>\n
