Barfi – recipe
Barfi is the easiest yet tasty sweet one can ever make. Though Barfi can be done using multiple ingredients, in this recipe session lets how to make it in just 10 minutes. With this recipe, make your own special for this Diwali.
Ingredients: ( serves 2-3 people)
- 3 Cups milk powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1.5 cup milk
- 3 tbsp pistachios ( finely chopped)
- 1/2 cup ghee.
Lets cook :
Mix 3 cups of milk powder with 1 cup of sugar and 1.5 cups of milk.
Whisk them without crumbs.
Transfer this mixture to a non-stick pan.
Now add 1/2 cup of ghee and stir well
Keep stirring till the mixture gets thick.
In 10 minutes, you will see the mixture getting nonsticky from the pan. It will get its own shape.
Make sure to not overcook or undercook.
Transfer the mixture to a tray with baking paper.
Add the finely chopped pistachios and other nuts you would like to add and press it in gently.
Now cover this and fridge it for an hr or more.
Once its all strong and sorted, cut it to your desired shape.
Your handmade, Diwali mithai is now ready to be served. Oh! this can be stored for a week!!
Apple Halwa- Recipe :
- 1 kg Apple
- 5 tbs sugar
- 3 tbs Ghee
- 1 tbs vanilla
- 1 tbs Cinnamon
- Nuts of your choice.
Step 1 :
Rinse 1 Kg of apple really well and strain it.
Peel each apple fully.
Always prefer sweeter apples so that you won’t need a lot of sugar. HEALTHY !!
Now slice them and take off the seed part.
Then slice them into nice, small, tiny pieces. ( You will need 6 to 8 cups of sliced apple)
In a pan or Kadai, melt 2 tablespoons of ghee and add the finely chopped apples.
Mix it nicely with the ghee and let them cook under low flame.
Saute them for like a good 5 minutes while you see some apple cubes soften up.
Add 3 tablespoons of water and mix it with the apple base.
Cover the pan and let it cook for solid 15 minutes in low flame.
Stir it at regular interval.
Once the base gets unstuck from the pan, mash the cubes using a potato masher or spoon.
Add 5 tablespoons or the required amount of sugar.
consider the taste of the apple before adding sugar.
Mix well till the sugar dissolves into the apple base.
Stir till you see the ghee you added on the top and sides of the pudding.
Now add one tablespoon of cinnamon powder and vanilla extract.
Add the nuts of your choice.
Mix well and add sugar if needed.
Stir well for 3-5 minutes.
Turn off the stove.
Add half a tablespoon of ghee and some crushed nuts.
close the pan and let it sit for a while.
Apple halwa is now ready. Serve it hot with love. Try this Diwali sweet recipe and have great festival food.
Sweet Dahi poha:
- 1 tablespoon Cashews
2 tablespoon Almonds
1 cup curd
- 3 tablespoon Sugar
1/2 cup Pomegranate seeds
- 1 tablespoon Ghee
- 1 cup Thin poha flakes
Heat ghee in a pan.
Add almonds and nuts of your choice
Fry till it turns golden brown.
In a bowl, add curd and mix the roasted mixture and pomegranate seeds to it.
To this mixture add sugar ( required amount)
When you are about to serve, mix it with poha.
add some roasted nuts to garnish it.
